Hope you had a stellar weekend, this weather is just tooooo good to be true!

I'm aching from the yardwork, but it's a good feeling overall.  In addition to that, I got the patio furniture set up, put in some new solar lights and wired my pergola for sound.  Hopefully this summer will be a "rockin' good time".  That is if you believe a guy my age (48) really does much "rockin' ". 

Anyway, on to the concrete stuff..............

Sandra Bullock and her husband Jesse James escaped injury Friday night in Gloucester Massachusetts Friday night when a suspected drunk driver crossed the center line and hit the SUV they were passengers in. Lucille Gatchell was arrested and charged. Sandra is in Massachusetts filming the romantic comedy "The Proposal".

Motor racing history was made yesterday when Danica Patrick won the Indy Japan 300, the first time ever a woman has won an Indycar race. She crossed the line almost 6 seconds ahead of pole sitter Helio Castroneves, she is 26 years old.

A dip in the ratings for blockbuster American Idol has some wondering if it's halo bubble has finally burst.  Idol dipped 7% in total viewers from last season and has lost nearly one-fifth of it's 18-34 aged viewers and kids 2-11. Those are the age groups that tend to bail out first as a show starts to get long in the tooth. Last Tuesday's  performance show was the lowest rated Tuesday Idol in five years !

Great news for TTC riders this morning, a tentative deal yesterday prevented rocket riders from hitting the bricks in order to get to work.  The threatened strike could have caused massive gridlock in Toronto as hundreds of thousands would have had no other way to work than to use cars.

So was he practicing on behalf of the military or was he just trying to impress his girlfriend? Prince William landed a 20 million dollar Royal Airforce chopper in Kate Middleton's back yard during an official military exercise.  This comes just days after the prince used a Chinook chopper to fly himself and Prince Harry to a stag weekend on the Isle of Wight.  Sure beats using an airline !

Howie Mandel's got a new gig, he'll star in a new comedy series for Global and NBC. Not many details out right now except the show may be called "Howie do it".
