Pete's Hit and Run Notes
11 April........ where'd this fog come from???
Hamilton council is looking at a couple of options for rapid transit here in the city to try and bump 20% of the cars off the road. One option is a light rapid rail system, the other is rapid buses. The system would focus on King and Main Streets from Mac to Eastgate, also James and Upper James, as well as an east-west Mountain route.
Driving in Halton? You better buckle up, they're launching the Spring blitz on those foolish enough not to wear their seatbelt.
They'll also be spot checking child car seats and boosters to make sure they're anchored to the car properly. Make it "CLICK" , it could save your life.
Naomi Campbell won't be causing any further ruckus on British Airways planes.....because she's banned from flying that airline now. She flipped out last week on a flight and was asked to leave all because she was told they couldn't find one of her bags. Her spokesperson says she hopes they can settle this with the airline amicably. I wouldn't bet the house on it though.
Patrick Swayze's wife says he's continuing to respond well to treatment for pancreatic cancer. They also are thankful for all the support from friends and fans saying they believe it all makes a difference in this tough battle Patrick has to face.
Apparently not everyone wants to be Paris Hilton's best friend. OK magazine reports less than 40 people came to a New York casting session for Paris' upcoming MTV series called "Paris Hilton, my new BFF" in which hopefuls compete to be her new best buddy. Now let's see if she gets more than 40 people to watch the show.
Looks like Sean Penn and his wife Robin Wright have called off the divorce. TMZ.com reports they've withdrawn their divorce petition they filed in December. No other details are offered except the withdrawal shows it was made "without prejudice", presumably meaning they're going to give their marriage another go.
So much for that reality show...."Secret Talents of the Stars" has bitten the dust after just one episode. CBS has given the deep 6 after only 4.6 million tuned in to see George Takei sing "On the road again" and Clint Black doing standup comedy. Danny Bonaduce's secret talents will be kept secret permanently with the cancellation. I know, the curiousity on that one is killing me too.
