Acting legend Charlton Heston, best known for his role in the 1960 film classic Ben-Hur died Saturday in his Beverly Hills home. Although no cause of death was disclosed, it's believed it was linked to the Alzheimers disease he disclosed in 2002.  He was 84.

Feist was the big winner at the Junos last night snatching 5 awards at the ceremony in her hometown of Calgary at the Saddledome. Blue Rodeo took home 3 Junos, Michael Buble got the fan choice statue, Wintersleep took the one for new group and the group Triumph were inducted to the Canadian Music Hall of Fame.

This has to be a disappointment for George Clooney: the movie he directed, starred in and overhauled the script for stumbled into 3rd place in it's debut weekend making only 12.5 million dollars. Leatherheads came in behind Sony's "21" and Fox/Walden's "Nim's Island".  George is obviously a big movie star, but not a big box office star.

Nicolas Cage has settled a libel suit in London against Kathleen Turner who falsely claimed in her autobiography "Send yourself Roses" that he had been twice arrested for drunk driving and that he'd stolen a Chihuahua.  The bizarre case was settled with Kathleen and her publisher admitting they goofed, paying Nicolas' legal costs and making a nice fat donation to Nic's charity of choice.

The 50 million dollar revamp of Mountain Plaza Mall has fallen behind schedule due to concerns over traffic and relocating tenants.  Neighbors have voiced concerns over trucks unloading at an expanded Walmart and tenants are nervous of losing a ton of business during the vendor shuffle due to take place prior to demolition of the old mall.  The discussions with merchants and the City of Hamilton continue.

David Philips of Environment Canada warns we shouldn't get too complacent about the Winter weather being totally gone now that the Spring season has come.  This is the month where the cold does battle with the warmer temperatures, and sure enough this weekend would seem to dip chilly once again after a week of nice mild conditions. Bottom line: make sure you know where your gloves are.
