Welland Canal Soup 

Serves 4-6

1 pound hamburger
1 medium onion chopped
1 10 3/4 ounce can condensed beef broth
1 can water
1 12 ounce can beer
1 1/2 cups sliced carrots
1/2 cup sliced celery with tops
1/2 cup sliced mushrooms
1 medium potato diced
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon pepper
1/8 teaspoon allspice
1 bay leaf

Brown hamburger and onin. Drain off fat. Add remaining ingredients. Bring to a boil. Cover and reduce to simmer for 30 minutes.
