12 MARCH....CLOCKS AHEAD THIS WEEKEND.....PARALYMPICS START TONIGHT....TRUMPS BOARDROOM REOPENS SUNDAY....

Here's what I know so far today.........

Paralympics begin tonight. Today's opening ceremony will be "incredibly family friendly," according to Patrick Roberge, the event's producer. The two-hour opening ceremony starts at 6 p.m. You can also watch it tomorrow on CTV at 2 p.m., he said, followed at 4 p.m. by a sledge hockey game between Canada and Italy. CTV is broadcasting 27 hours of coverage in English and 30 hours in French.

11 MARCH....MADONNA REFS.....WINTER TANKS....3D FLOURISHES.....

Here's the truth as I can confess it so far today.....

MICHAEL BOLTON opened up his home to a select group of journalists Wednesday night to introduce his new album, One World One Love, which is coming out May 4th.  ABC News Radio was among the select few who traveled to Westport, Connecticut to hear cuts from the album in Michael's own home studio -- which is bigger than most million-dollar homes, and stocked to the gills with gold and platinum albums, awards and memorabilia.   Next to that was Michael's actual house -- much bigger, of course -- where the guests feasted on lobster, homemade pasta, crab cakes, champagne and vodka cocktails while gawking at his Grammy awards and chatting casually with him about his life and career.

9 MARCH....MASSIVE FOOD RECALLS COMING??....BACON FOR BOYS....41.3 MILLION OSCAR GAWKERS....

Here's the truth as I see it so far today.....

ELTON JOHN's annual Academy Awards Viewing Party, held this past Sunday, raised 3.7 million dollars for his AIDS Foundation.  Adding to that total was the auction of the custom-made outfit that Elton wore at the Grammy Awards in January when he duetted with LADY GAGA -- it went for 30 thousand bucks. Elton also auctioned off the chance to stay for a week at either his mansion in Windsor, England, or his place in Nice, France, and be able to use his personal chef during that time.  That experience went for 140 thousand bucks.

8 MARCH....BIGELOW WINS....VITAMIN D HEALS....STEVIE WONDER COLLECTS, FINALLY !.....

Here's the deal today so far,

According to a new study,Vitamin D is a key ingredient to building up you immune system to fight viruses and infections. Vitamin D has already been proven to help reduce risks of cancer, heart disease and other diseases. The vitamin, whether you get it from the sun or in pill form or from food, helps produce peptides which the body looks for when it's trying to fight off sickness.

New research says women who drink moderate amounts of wine are less likely to experience long term weight gain than those who don't drink at all. A Boston hospital surveyed 20,000 women over 13 years and found the group that gained the most weight were non-drinkers. Experts remind us though that they are talking about one or two glasses, and that heavy drinking is definitely associated with weight gain.

4 MARCH...CANADIAN ANTHEM CHANGES....BARON COHEN OUT OF THE OSCARS.....BUBLE JUNO NOMS....

Here the scoop today so far......

HEALTH OFFICIALS here in Ontario would like to know why the regular seasonal flu virtually disappeared this year in the province. Some speculate it may have to do with the mass inoculation against SWINE FLU. At this moment there is only one confirmed case of seasonal flu here in Ontario.

The Harper Conservatives are asking if our national anthem should be changed from "IN ALL THY SON'S COMMAND" to "Thou dost in us command.", which the Prime Minister's Office says is the wording from the original version.  Apparently some women in CANADA feel excluded by the wording, so they're considering a change.

3 MARCH.....TIGER HOME....JESSICA SIMPSON MIFFED....GILLIGAN THE MOVIE....

Here's what I found out so far today....

JUSTIN TIMBERLAKE apparently doesn't have any problems working with an old flame.  According to the Hollywood Reporter, he's just landed the lead male role in a movie called Bad Teacher, a comedy that stars his ex-girlfriend, CAMERON DIAZ.

AVRIL LAVIGNE doesn't just appear on the soundtrack of the new movie Alice In Wonderland -- she's also going to help fans dress the part.  Avril's clothing label, Abbey Dawn, is teaming up with Disney to release a limited-edition collection of fashions inspired by Alice In Wonderland.  The collection will arrive exclusively at Kohl's stores and Kohs.com on 5 March, the same day the movie opens.

2 MARCH....GM RECALLS...YAMIN IN SANTIAGO....ROLL UP VS FREE McCOFFEE....

HERE'S WHAT I DISCOVERED ABOUT THE WORLD TODAY SO FAR.....

ELTON JOHN's annual Oscar viewing party always includes a live charity auction.  This year, a very special item is up for grabs: the outfit Elton wore at the Grammy Awards on January to perform with LADY GAGA.  According to Elton's website, the costume -- which features a black dress suit and shirt plus a pair of crystal-encrusted glasses and earring -- was created especially for Elton by GIORGIO ARMANI. All proceeds will go to Elton's AIDS Foundation.

1 MARCH....(YOU KNOW, THE MONTH WHEN SPRING BEGINS ??? YA !!)  ....KATE GOSSELING DWTS?....CARLY'S VAIN-MAN......SIMON ENGAGED??

HERE'S THE DAILY SCUTTLEBUTT TODAY SO FAR.....

JUSTIN BIEBER got a best-selling album, a string of iTunes hits and over a million devoted Twitter followers who hang on his every word -- and today, he's finally old enough to drive.  JUSTIN turns 16 , and he says the only present he wants from his fans is for them to make his latest single, "Baby," #1 on iTunes.

LADY GAGA recently raised some eyebrows with her cover shot for Britain's Q magazine, in which she poses topless, with her gloved hands across her breasts.  Now the cover shot is apparently keeping the magazine from being stocked in certain stores in the U.S.  Q magazine has posted a note on its website saying that because the cover photo allegedly shows too much of her from the waist up. Borders Books & Music won't display Q in its magazine racks unless that part is covered up.
