18 June...... Tomorrow's the big day we all broadcast from Bad Boy's new location in Burlington. Drop out and say hi if you get chance, I'd love to meet you as my listener. We could shop together. Or something.
Here's what I've found out so far today.......
Heads up that you may wish to fill up your tank today. Gasbuddy.com says Wednesdays are the cheapest day to get a full tank as the petroleum companies boost prices on Thursdays to snag the extra bucks from weekend travelers.
Joan Rivers got booted off a British daytime show called "Loose Women" when she let loose a couple of nasty swear words when she described Russell Crowe. The show was live, she thought it had a time delay bleeper, it didn't and so during the next commercial break she was asked to leave the studio. Joan Rivers on live TV has got to be a risky move anytime, didn't they know?
Fox Network will help to develop "The Animated Adventures of Bob and Doug McKenzie", a prime time Canadian cartoon that will reunite Rick Moranis and Dave Thomas. They'll do the voices for the two hosers, and the series will add friends and family and a town setting for the characters. Global TV has signed on for the first run in 2009.
Britney Spears is selling her gated Summit community home, where she had her January meltdown. She has quietly begun showing it to potential buyers according to E!news online. Yesterday the courts approved a request from her conservatorship for permission to put the home on the market. No word on asking price, but she bought the place last December for 6.7 million.

Robert De Niro may have to tear down the penthouse of a Manhattan hotel he's renovated and rebuilt. The fancy top floor doesn't match the plans approved by the Landmarks commission and they might make him rip it down at a cost of 1.5 million. The hotel is in a heritage district and violates the commission's aesthetics code. He's implored them in person to let the violation stand.
Amy Winehouse was taken for a brief checkup in London after she allegedly fainted at her home in the British capital. Her manager was on hand to catch her from falling and her father drove her to hospital to be looked over as a precaution. She's been battling drug addiction which has kept her name in the tabloids recently.
The Vatican in Rome has told Tom Hanks to stay home. Actually they've banned the makers of a prequel to THE DAVINCI CODE from filming in its grounds or any church in Rome. They describe the work as an offence against God.
George Carlin will be the next recipient of the Mark Twain Prize for American Humour. George is 71 now and will receive the award at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington 10 November. The award is in recognition of his long career as a comedian, actor and writer, and PBS will air the ceremonies. I still have copies of his albums on vinyl, right next to my copy of Fleetwood Mac's Rumours album...the one with the song "Dreams".
