New York Times reports CBS is in talks with CNN to possibly outsource some of it's news-gathering operations to CNN.  Another possibility is for CBS to keep it's correspondents in certain regions but pair them up with the CNN crews. Front line presenters like Katie Couric would stay on staff.  It's all aimed at cutting costs in the news division of CBS.

Apparently Mischa Barton plans to plead no contest to her charge of driving under the influence when she's arraigned Tomorrow. That would allow her to avoid jail time and the charge of pot possession would be dismissed, while her charge of driving with an invalid license would be reduced to an infraction.  See how simple it is for famous people to make their mistakes just disappear?

Toni Braxton is in a Las Vegas hospital for tests after suffering chest pains Monday night. She's been treated for pericarditis before, that's an inflammation of the heart. Last night's show at the Flamingo room where she's been performing since the summer of 2006 had to be cancelled and tonight's show may be off too.

The upper leg of the Kenilworth access is getting a 50 million dollar fixup and so will be closed June through August.  It's the section of the access from the hairpin up to the brow that's been renovated, so the Sherman cut will be kept open for 2 way traffic 24 hours a day. Sounds like the Red Hill Expressway will  get a good workout this summer.

Patrick Swayze's wife Lisa says he continues to respond well to the treatment for pancreatic cancer. She says they are both also very grateful for the kind words of support from fans and friends. She says they believe it really makes a difference.

In addition to huge stars like Brad Pitt and Miley Cyrus being on hand for tomorrow night's "Idol gives back", there will be an appearance by the 3 senators. No not a rock group, we're talking Clinton, Obama and McCain, all the presidential hopefuls will be on the show as they try to surpass the 76 million dollars they raised on the special last year. Also appearin on the show: Victoria and David Beckham, Jim Carrey, Adam Sandler, Alicia Keys, Reese Witherspoon, Julianne Moore, The Jonas Brothers, Felicity Huffman, Toby Keith, Whoopi Goldberg, Amy Adams, Bono, Celine Dion, Fergie, Forest Whitaker, Jennifer Connolly, John Legend, Mariah Carey and Robin Williams.

Lindsay Lohan's former bodyguard says she still owes him $55,000 for services he provided her.  David Kim filed suit Monday alleging she stiffed him for 19 weeks worth of wages, also breach of labor code, and oral contract, fraud and infliction of emotional distress.  I'm not sure about the other stuff, but that oral contract thingy is gonna be hard to prove in court.
