This program will build self-esteem, develop leadership and teamwork skills and realize a sense of fulfillment. AIFEC will greatly assist in successfully carrying children forward, as vital citizens of their community.

There are many levels available to support this program. You can choose from sponsoring a single child, a classroom, a school, or you can become a program partner by matching the annual contribution of the Founding Sponsor Paul Lloyd of PasWord Group.

Hamilton is the first community in Canada to a undertake musical education program of this nature. As they work towards their major goal of "10 X 15" (10 schools by 2015) their immediate need is to raise $35,000 to purchase musical instruments for 160 students by September 2013.

Currently, the Catholic Children's Aid Society of Hamilton is providing foster care for 187 children in 87 foster homes.

On Sunday we celebrate all that our mothers have done for us, which reminds us here at CCASH of the extraordinary role that a foster mother plays in the life of some of the most vulnerable children in our community. She shares her love, her home, and her family, in order to provide a safe and stable environment for a child that desperately needs it.

Foster families come in all shapes and sizes. Some foster parents are married and some are single. Some already have children of their own, and some do not. Foster parents can work outside the home, be a stay at home parent, or retired. Foster families come from varying cultural backgrounds and income levels.

Foster parents work with CCASH as part of a team to develop a plan to care for each child and youth. This could include reuniting children with their birth families, making an adoption plan or placing the child in long-term foster care. They work closely with CCASH to provide temporary care to children and youth for a few days, a week, several months or possibly years. The Catholic Children's Aid Society of Hamilton supports foster families through assessment, training and education, ongoing assistance as well as financial supports for the child’s care, food and clothing.

Even with 87 families fostering for CCASH, more foster families are needed who can provide safe, loving, secure homes to the vulnerable children and youth who come into care. CCASH is always in need of more foster homes for children of all ages. However at this time there is a critical shortage of foster homes for infants and adolescents.

Interested foster families can contact 905-525-CARE (2273).

Adoption and Foster Parents Information Night

Have You Ever Considered Building Your Family Through Adoption or By Becoming a Foster Parent?
