Before Toni Braxton hit stardom as a solo artist, she and her sisters had a vocal quintet billed as the Braxtons. This effort was produced by former Starpoint member Ernesto Phillips. While the tracks are cohesively attractive, the vocals are par at best. The shortcoming is that in their effort to ensure the vocal participation of all five sisters, the result suffers. If more focus was directed towards one or two, the outcome could have been more engaging. From a lyrical perspective, the material was not popular with the buying and listening public.
