Just after the release of their debut album,
Tortoise invited several friends (including
Steve Albini and
Brad Wood) to dissect several tracks. The result is a 30-minute continuous mix, ranging from a hip-hop remix -- with
A Tribe Called Quest and
Minnie Riperton samples -- to environment-sound driftings. Most of the disc is on the experimental side, even compared to the original.
