Taken from Lucky Thompson's very prolific period in France, this album has a dozen selections (mostly the tenor's originals) cut at two recording sessions with a French octet. The music has since been reissued by RCA in their Vogue series so is fortunately readily available. None of the songs became standards but Thompson is heard throughout in prime form and his backup group (which includes pianist Martial Solal) is excellent.
