From this morning's show - Sunni and Tom chat with Kathy and Cory about the wedding gift firestorm that made the pages of the Hamilton Spectator and lit up our facebook page.
Everywhere I turn lately , all I hear about is how old something is or how afraid someone is of turning the big one. What is the big one anyway? Is it 35, 30,40 or is it just looking in the mirror and realizing time has been racing by and there are so many things you want to do. So what's the hold up I say. Next year Matt and I will be celebrating working 20 years together. Can you believe it? A partnership that started out as simply filling in has turned into many years of fun ,laughter and simply driving each other crazy. Where has the time gone? It's so hard to say but I will say this the best is yet to come!!!!!!!!!!!!!
School is almost out and then you start to see the revolving door of people at work who are off this summer for vacation. I'm already experiencing it here at work. Matt is off this week, I'm off next then Tom, our producer. Once the school's out , it's 2 solid months of no real routine. You know what I mean. Staying up late at night, getting up when you want , eating like crazy cause you're planning to go to every festival in the area and why not there are tons of them. Your kids may want to still hang ot with you which is a bonus because when they finally get summer jobs and more of a social life than you then you'll never see them. Welcome to summer vacation!!!!
I know if been racking your brain trying to figure what to get your dad for Fathers Day on Sunday. You're in and out of stores and the answer is right under your nose. Time, that's right good fashion getting together with your dad and your family and having a bite to eat whether it's breaksfast, lunch or dinner or mayber just coffee and having a conversation. That's 'all my dad ever wanted. In fact when i gave my dad a fathers day card , he'd spend so much time reading it and enjoying the message inside. Sometimes the perfect gift is right under your nose. Have a happy fathers day!!!!!
School will be out and it may not seem it but summer will be here in full force and have you really thought about your plans with the kids? Or how about your plans just you and that special person in your life? Lots of people take vacations in other countries in the summer and those of us who are constantly working on our backyards and decks just want to enjoy that instead. There's nothing wrong with that. You can read just as easily in your backyard as you can in another country and it's cheaper. Day trips are becoming really popular and coming up Thursday morning , we'll be chatting with Tourism Hamilton about all you can do this summer with you and your kids or on your own. Don't worry we'll get your summer started with loads of fun right here in Hamilton!!!!!

Every time you buy a coffee at Tim Hortons on Camp Day (this Wednesday) , you'll be sending more than 16,00 kids who wouldn't be able to afford it on the camping adventure of a lifetime. It's simple , you usually buy one anyway right? So come visit Matt and I this Wednesday at Tim Hortons in the Meadowlands (next to Wendys) and have a coffee with us. All the coffee sales on Wednesday, June 5th will go to sending kids to camp. Kids who deserve it . Don't forget you can also text camp to 45678 to make a 5 dollar donation this Wednesday as well.
It started out as a simple week off , a vacation with my husband and a chance to spend time with my parents. The vacation took a serious turn and my father become critically ill and he passed away . My dad was a very hard working Italian who came to Canada in the early 50's to make a better life for his family and he did just that. He and my mom were married for 65 years. Can you believe it ?Hard to believe anyone could stay together that long but they made it last with great love and understanding. I'd like to thank Matt for the kind words about my dad and to the many klite listeners who sent me their condolences.
I went out to get my plants for th garden and I couldn't believe how many people were out grabbing what they could before the big rush. I did the tour of purchasing my plants . I started on Ottawa Street where i began starting my collection of herbs, lavender and then a quick lunch to figure out what else i needed. Then I was off to Fortinos to pick up a few more annuals for my pots which are filled with leaves from last fall. I got home and I started pulling weeds, trimming bushes and pre planting some of my flowers and vegetables. Aboslutely every bone in my body aches thanks to having a backyard with steps and hills . Who needs the gym when i've got my own cross fit studio in my backyard!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
