I can't believe i'm saying this but Captain Kirk (William Shatner) making a surprise appearance at the Oscars during host Seth Mcfarlane's opening monologue was hilarious.   Mcfarlane is a funny guy but what little i saw of him was okay not pant splitting funny.  There seemed to be alot of awkwardness with the various presenters.  I always find that so funny because they act as if they're meeting for the first time and they had to know weeks ago that they were presenting together.   Congrats to Ben Affleck on winning best picture.   He was never nominated for best director which clearly shows that even the Oscars aren't exactly in touch with their own industry.   I really wanted to see Adele sing .   I was too tired to stay up but  I did catch Shirley Bassey and she was amazing singing  the Bond classic 'Goldfinger'.
